About Stachlburg Wine Festival

Once a year, the von Kripp family opens the gates of the Stachlburg castle courtyard for the Partschinser Weinfest, the wine festival of Parcines. In the heart of the Merano region, amidst the manor's organic vineyards, guests can taste estate wines accompanied by live music, South Tyrolean gastronomic specialties, and guided cellar tours. A convivial occasion to discover excellent mountain wines in a historic setting overlooking the village.

The wine festival in the Stachlburg courtyard

The Partschinser Weinfest, also known as the Weinfest in der Stachlburg, is the wine festival of the municipality of Parcines/Partschins, in the Merano district of the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). The event takes place in the picturesque courtyard of Stachlburg castle, a stately home and winery owned by the von Kripp family, who welcome guests once a year for a day dedicated to wine, music, and fine dining.

A castle with an organic winery

Stachlburg is a typical Tyrolean castle whose origins date back to the 13th century. Originally built as the seat of the lords of Parcines under the name Perzin Castle, it took its current name in 1540 when Georg Stachl purchased the property and obtained a noble title. Today, the manor is owned by Baron von Kripp and has housed an organic vineyard and winery since 1990. It is in this historic setting, between the castle walls and its vineyards, that the festival comes to life.

Wine, music, and gastronomy

During the Weinfest, the Stachlburg courtyard comes alive with live music, local gastronomic specialties, and, of course, the wines produced by the estate. The program includes guided cellar tours led by the resident winemaker, revealing the secrets of vinification and the history of production, as well as offerings for enthusiasts such as vertical tastings of historic vintages. It is a family-friendly event that combines the conviviality of a village festival with the elegance of a castle-winery.

Parcines and the Merano region

Parcines is located just a few kilometers from Merano, in an area renowned for mountain viticulture and overlooking the Vinschgau valley. The festival is an excellent opportunity to combine a visit to the village—known for the Parcines waterfalls and for being the birthplace of Peter Mitterhofer, inventor of the typewriter—with a day dedicated to South Tyrolean food and wine.

The 2026 edition of the Partschinser Weinfest is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in the courtyard of Stachlburg castle in Parcines. Once again, the von Kripp family welcomes guests for a day of wine, live music, and South Tyrolean gastronomic specialties.
