The Palio dei Rioni of Ceva is one of the most cherished events in the calendar of the Municipality of Ceva, in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of south-western Piedmont. Every spring, the town in the Cebano region divides into its five historic districts, which challenge each other in a long competition made up of games, feats of strength and wit, social gatherings, and plenty of healthy local rivalry. The five competing districts

Contending for the coveted Palio banner are five districts, each with its own colors and supporters:

• Borgo Sottano Villarello
• Centro Storico
• Filatoio
• Luna Consolata
• Periferia

Each district mobilizes dozens of participants of all ages, from children to adults, to accumulate points in the various challenges and try to secure the final victory.

The games and challenges
