A sunset walk among herbs, honey, and bees in the UNESCO hills
Ber to Ber โ the walk, the herbs, the honey, and the bees is the event that inaugurates the On the Trails of La Morra hiking series in the municipality of La Morra, in the Province of Cuneo. We are in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, among the Barolo vineyards recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site: a landscape that, at sunset, when the hills are bathed in golden light, offers one of the most evocative views in all of Piedmont.
The event is a nature walk of approximately 6 kilometers, designed for those who want to experience the hills not just with their eyes, but with curiosity and attention. Along the path, guides stop to talk about the wild flora of the area, particularly the nectar-producing plants that nourish bees and make honey production possible. It is a slow walk, filled with stops and botanical insights, suitable for families and nature lovers.
The common thread of the evening is the deep connection between the landscape, the herbs, and the work of the bees. Halfway through or at the end of the walk, there is a scenic picnic break: participants bring their own packed dinner to enjoy while overlooking the Langhe landscape. The walk concludes with a visit to a local beekeeper's workshop, where you can discover all the stages of honey production up close.
Ber to Ber is just the first of many events in the season: the On the Trails of La Morra series offers themed walks throughout the year that weave together nature, food and wine, geology, and local culture, highlighting the marked trails that cross the municipality. It is an initiative promoted by the La Morra Tourist Office that invites residents and visitors to discover the Langhe at a slow pace, away from the most crowded routes.
