Four days of Trentino flavours, live music and conviviality in the heart of the Vallagarina valley
The Nomi Unity Festival is one of the longest-running popular events in Trentino. Reaching its 77th edition in 2026, it has its roots in the post-war period and continues to be a landmark every June for the community of Nomi, a small town in the Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento. Organised by the local branch of the Democratic Party with the support of the Trentino ARCI, the festival blends a convivial atmosphere with civic and cultural themes, fostering openness and participation.
The heart of the event is the Piazza delle Feste in Nomi, a fully covered venue that ensures the festival can proceed regardless of the weather. From Thursday to Sunday, food stalls generally open at 7:00 pm, with an additional morning session on Sunday between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet up, dine together and enjoy good music in the simple, welcoming environment typical of Trentino village festivals.
One of the highlights of the Nomi Unity Festival is the cuisine: Trentino culinary specialities and the best local wines are served, with many dishes prepared by volunteers. The kitchen also caters to specific dietary needs, offering gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. It follows the classic formula of a popular festival, where food serves as a tool for community and hospitality.
Each evening is accompanied by live concerts featuring local bands and special guests. The 2026 edition offers a rich musical programme, with bands ranging from rock to folk music, culminating in a final DJ set. Music, along with dancing and socialising, has always been a defining element of the festival.
Beyond the gastronomy and music, the Nomi Unity Festival maintains a strong civic focus. The 2026 edition hosts the travelling ANPI exhibition "Libere e sovrane. Le ventuno donne che hanno fatto la Costituzione" (Free and Sovereign: The twenty-one women who made the Constitution), dedicated to the Italian female constituent members and the value of women's democratic participation. This is a distinctive feature of the event, which has always paired festivities with moments of reflection and historical memory.
Small in size but grand in tradition, the Nomi Unity Festival is a prime example of how popular festivals in Trentino-Alto Adige successfully combine flavours, music and community. For those visiting the Vallagarina valley in June, it offers an authentic opportunity to experience the hospitality and cuisine of this corner of Trentino.
The 2026 edition, the seventy-seventh, was held from 11 to 14 June at the Piazza delle Feste in Nomi, in the Vallagarina valley. As per tradition, the event combined homemade Trentino cuisine and local wines with a programme of live music every evening, all within a fully covered space.
Accompanying the music and gastronomy, the travelling ANPI exhibition "Libere e sovrane. Le ventuno donne che hanno fatto la Costituzione" was dedicated to the founding mothers of the Italian Constitution.
The festival takes place at the Piazza delle Feste in Nomi (TN). The venue is fully covered, so the event goes ahead in all weather conditions.
