Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC festival in the Bosco di Don Venanzio Reserve
Naturalmente Rosa is the wine event that transforms the town of Pollutri, in the province of Chieti, into the Abruzzo capital of rosé wines every spring. Organized by the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) Abruzzo, the event is entirely dedicated to Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC, the region's signature rosé, named for its characteristic cherry color.
The choice of venue is no coincidence: the Bosco di Don Venanzio Regional Nature Reserve is a treasure trove of biodiversity in the heart of the Trabocchi Coast, a green oasis crisscrossed by trails and rich in flora and fauna. Here, wine meets nature: the tasting becomes an immersive experience, where the Abruzzo landscape frames the glass.
The event's format alternates between cultural and social moments. The afternoon begins with «Waiting for Naturalmente Rosa», a leisurely walk along the reserve's paths, enriched by dedicated corners:
Following this, the «Gusto Rosa» tasting stations open, the heart of the evening: dozens of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC labels available for free tasting, accompanied by a selection of guest rosés proposed by AIS delegations from other Italian regions. There is also a station dedicated to Abruzzo's extra virgin olive oil and gastronomic pairings featuring traditional local dishes.
Naturalmente Rosa is also a showcase for the food and wine excellence of the Chieti province and Abruzzo: from Ventricina del Vastese to local oils and typical products, every taste tells a story of the land. Live musical entertainment provides the soundtrack for the evening, accompanying the collective toast under the forest canopy.
Launched in 2023, the event has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated spring gatherings for wine lovers in the region. Promoted by AIS Abruzzo with the support of local agricultural businesses, Naturalmente Rosa combines the promotion of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC with environmental protection and the tourism development of Pollutri and its nature reserve.
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Bosco di Don Venanzio in Pollutri hosted the fourth edition of Naturalmente Rosa, the AIS Abruzzo event dedicated to Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC, this year in partnership with CIA Agricoltori Italiani Chieti-Pescara.
From 6:00 PM, the «Waiting for Naturalmente Rosa» walk led visitors along the reserve's paths, with a reading corner curated by the Menabò publishing house and a workshop dedicated to the world of coffee. From 7:00 PM, the «Gusto Rosa» tasting stations opened, featuring about seventy labels including Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC and guest rosés proposed by the AIS Lazio and AIS Puglia delegations.
Accompanying the tasting was a choice of a gastronomic dish — gnocchetti with ventricina sauce or a vegetarian option — a station dedicated to extra virgin olive oil, and musical entertainment by the Nicola Cordisco Quartet.
