About Autumn Paths

Autumn Paths — Knowledge and Flavors is the major food, wine, and folklore festival that brings the alleys of Paglieta's historic center to life every autumn in the province of Chieti. Organized by the Pro Loco Paglieta APS with the patronage of the Municipality, the event offers a tasting itinerary of traditional Abruzzese rustic dishes, a market of local products, exhibitions, workshops for children, and live music throughout the village streets and squares.

Autumn Paths in Paglieta

Autumn Paths — Knowledge and Flavors is one of the most cherished food and wine events in the Municipality of Paglieta, located in the heart of the Chieti province in Abruzzo. Every year, during the autumn season, the alleys and squares of the historic center are transformed into a long journey of taste, art, and popular traditions, designed to rediscover the region's rustic identity and the richness of its products.

An itinerary of knowledge and flavors

The heart of the festival is the food and wine trail that winds through the ancient streets of the village: along the way, visitors encounter stands and guided tastings of wine, extra virgin olive oil, and dishes from traditional Abruzzese rustic cuisine. Specialties include rintrocilo with sauce, pasta alla mugnaia, sagne e ceci (pasta and chickpeas), pallotte cacio e uova (cheese and egg balls), polenta, skewers, chestnuts, and mulled wine, not to mention typical desserts like bocconotti and pizzelle.

Market, exhibitions, and workshops

Alongside the tastings, the event hosts a market of local products and crafts, exhibitions by local artists, book presentations, and creative workshops for children, making it a perfect event for the whole family. There are also nature walks along the paths surrounding the town, from which the event takes its name.

Music and folklore

The evenings are enlivened by live music performances, folk groups, traditional bands, and DJ sets that entertain visitors and residents until late. The formula combining gastronomy, culture, and entertainment has made Autumn Paths a highly anticipated event for the entire Val di Sangro and Vasto area.

A community event

The event is organized by the Pro Loco Paglieta APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Paglieta and the support of local entities and sponsors. In 2025, the event celebrated its twentieth edition, confirming its status as one of the premier autumn festivals in the province of Chieti.

Autumn Paths — edition 2026

The Pro Loco Paglieta APS organizes the Autumn Paths — Knowledge and Flavors event every autumn in the historic center of Paglieta. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: in recent editions, the event has taken place on the last weekend of October, featuring tastings of traditional Abruzzese rustic cuisine, a market of local products, exhibitions, workshops, and live music.

The 2026 edition of Autumn Paths — Knowledge and Flavors in Paglieta does not yet have an official program. Following the trend of previous years, the event is expected to return in autumn to the alleys of the historic center with the usual itinerary of tastings of traditional dishes, wine and oil, an artisanal market, workshops for children, and live music performances. Dates and the program will be announced by the Pro Loco Paglieta APS.
