The White Truffle and the excellence of the Asti Monferrato
In the hillside village of Mombercelli, in the Province of Asti, the National Truffle and Local Products Fair is one of the most anticipated events of the Monferrato autumn. The heart of the event is the White Truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico), known as the "king of the autumn table," celebrated alongside other local food and wine treasures: Monferrato wines, cheeses, Piedmont PGI hazelnuts, and traditional Piedmontese dishes.
Mombercelli lies in the heart of the Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The fair highlights the bond between this exceptional product and the landscape that produces it: between tastings, visitors can join scenic walks through the vineyards and discover the famous Giant Bottle, a symbol of the town's winemaking heritage. This national-level event is twinned with other Italian "Truffle Cities," a testament to the prestige it has achieved over its forty-year history.
Beyond its gastronomic appeal, the Mombercelli Truffle Fair retains the soul of a traditional village festival: for an entire weekend, the historic squares—Piazza Vittorio Alfieri and Piazza Unione Europea above all—come alive with stalls, aromas, music, and crowds. It is a unique opportunity to discover the authentic face of the Asti Monferrato, away from the more crowded tourist routes but rich in flavor and tradition.
The National Truffle and Local Products Fair of Mombercelli returns in 2026 for its 45th edition, scheduled for Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. The date has been confirmed by the National Truffle Study Center in the official calendar of Piedmontese truffle fairs.
As per tradition, the event will enliven the squares of Mombercelli's center with the White Truffle and local Monferrato products market, Pro Loco food stalls, guided tastings, wine masterclasses, exhibitions, and moments of music and entertainment.
The detailed program for the 45th edition, including times, guests, menus, and daily events, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event on the official website and social media channels.
