About MXGP of Trentino

Every spring, the FIM Motocross World Championship stops in Trentino at the Il Ciclamino circuit between Dro and Pietramurata. A weekend of MXGP and MX2 racing, featuring the world's best riders tackling a track nestled at the foot of the vertical cliffs of Monte Brento in the Trentino Alto Garda region. A spectacular natural amphitheatre that draws tens of thousands of enthusiasts from all over Europe.

The Motocross World Championship in Trentino

The MXGP of Trentino is the Italian round of the FIM Motocross World Championship held at the Il Ciclamino circuit, between the municipality of Dro and the village of Pietramurata, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Since the event's permanent return in 2013, this Trentino Alto Garda track has become one of the most beloved and fixed fixtures on the world championship calendar, attracting tens of thousands of spectators every year.

A unique natural amphitheatre

What makes this race special is the setting: the circuit is carved into a basin at the foot of the imposing vertical walls of Monte Brento, a true natural amphitheatre overlooking the Valle dei Laghi. The Alto Garda landscape, with its vineyards, olive groves, and proximity to Lake Garda, provides the backdrop for a premier sporting event, turning the race weekend into an experience that combines adrenaline with the beauty of the Trentino region.

Racing categories

The programme features the two premier classes of the World Championship — MXGP and MX2 — alongside the EMX250 and EMX125 European Championship categories, a showcase for young talents aiming for the big leagues. The track sees the most titled champions of the sport alternating in a weekend filled with timed practice, warm-ups, and the highly anticipated two heats for each class.

Organization

The event is organized by the Moto Club Arco in collaboration with Infront Moto Racing, the promoter of the World Championship, with the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento and local authorities. The organizational machine manages an international flow of spectators, with paddocks, grandstands, and spectator areas distributed along the hilly track.

An event to experience

For motor racing fans and those visiting Trentino in the spring, the MXGP of Trentino is the chance to witness the Motocross World Championship live in one of Italy's most evocative tourist destinations. The races are also broadcast on television via Rai Sport and dedicated international channels, but it is on the track, amidst the roar of engines and breathtaking jumps, that you truly soak up the event's atmosphere.
