Tuscany's boutique traveling festival stops at Villa Ginori Conti
The Musicastrada Festival is a boutique traveling festival, considered one of a kind in Italy, which for over twenty years has been touring the most fascinating villages and landscapes of the province of Pisa, in Tuscany. Every summer, it transforms squares, monuments, villas, and natural vistas into open-air stages, following the philosophy that defines its identity: "it's more than just a concert." Among the most beloved stops on the tour is the Municipality of Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina, a small hilltop village in the Colline Metallifere, where the evening concert takes place in the evocative setting of Villa Ginori Conti.
More than just a series of concerts, Musicastrada is a true journey. Alongside live music, the audience can enjoy local food, craft beers, guided village tours, breathtaking views, and opportunities for social interaction. It is a format that combines culture, regional promotion, and a social dimension, bringing Italian and international artists to locations off the beaten path, far from large arenas and immersed in the authenticity of the Tuscan countryside.
Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina is a characteristic hillside village located at an altitude of about 576 meters, in the Colline Metallifere area on the border between the provinces of Pisa, Siena, and Grosseto. Its unique "grape cluster" layout, made of stone houses, narrow alleys, and charming passages, makes it an ideal location for the festival's itinerant formula, where the landscape and the town's architecture become an integral part of the show.
The festival places great emphasis on social responsibility: among its signature initiatives is the suspended ticket, which allows the public to purchase an extra entry to donate to those who cannot afford one, in collaboration with a local social cooperative. A choice that reflects the spirit of the event, attentive not only to artistic quality but also to the communal value of shared music.
The Castelnuovo stop is part of a calendar that visits about fifteen municipalities in the Pisa area each summer, making Musicastrada one of the most distinctive and appreciated musical events in Tuscany.
For the 2026 edition, the 27th, the Musicastrada Festival brings the concert of I Patagarri to Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina, a band that offers an irrepressible gipsy jazz made of passion, irreverence, and freedom. The appointment is for Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:00 PM at Villa Ginori Conti.
The evening is part of the wider program of the traveling festival, which in 2026 takes place from July 10 to August 2, visiting numerous villages in the Pisa area, from San Miniato to Montopoli in Val d'Arno, from Monteverdi Marittimo to Pomarance, and up to Chianni.
Wednesday, July 29, 2026, 10:00 PM – Villa Ginori Conti, Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina
This date is part of the program of the 27th edition of the Musicastrada Festival (July 10 – August 2, 2026).
Villa Ginori Conti, Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina (PI), province of Pisa, Tuscany. The village is located in the Colline Metallifere, accessible by car via the SS439 and the provincial roads of Val di Cecina.
Traveling by car is the most convenient option: the village is about an hour and a half from Pisa and Siena. The reference train stations are on the coastal line (Cecina) or in Pontedera, from where you can continue by car or local transport.
Tickets and season passes can be purchased in advance on the DICE platform at a lower price than at the door. The solidarity suspended ticket is also available. Given the limited capacity of the locations, advance purchase is recommended.
