The conservatory Music Festival in Sciacca, part of the European Harmonie project
In the spa town of Sciacca, overlooking the Strait of Sicily in the province of Agrigento, the Music Festival takes on an international dimension thanks to the Harmonie project. The initiative, whose full name is Artistic Hub for the Musical Network and Opportunities for New Generations in Europe, is promoted by the Arturo Toscanini Conservatory of Ribera and co-funded by the European Union through the COMM/IT/GRANT 2025 call.
Harmonie was created to build a network that fosters dialogue between Italian and European conservatories and supports young musicians across the continent. The program runs from June to October, touching Menfi, Sciacca, Palermo, Rome, and Prague, with the participation of over one hundred musicians. The chosen theme, "The Voice of Places," invites the valorization of the musical traditions of the involved territories through new jazz, pop-rock, and contemporary interpretations.
The heart of the Sciacca Music Festival takes place in the lower atrium of the Town Hall, with free admission and evening concerts. The stage features alternating ensembles from the Toscanini Conservatory and partner conservatories from Trapani, Messina, and Palermo, along with guests from Siena Jazz - National Academy of Jazz. Alongside the concerts, there are screenings of documentaries detailing the institute's international tours, such as the one linked to the Osaka Expo.
Co-organized with the Municipality of Sciacca and the Skenรจ Academy, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, the event confirms Sciacca's vocation as a cultural crossroads in the Agrigento area. For the public, it is an opportunity to discover the talent of young graduates for free and to experience the Music Festival in a charming urban setting, amidst the historic center, ceramics, and the sea of Sicily's southern coast.
The 2026 Music Festival in Sciacca launched the international Harmonie project of the Arturo Toscanini Conservatory of Ribera, with two free-admission evenings in the lower atrium of the Town Hall, themed "The Voice of Places."
On June 20, the Siena Jazz Trio from the National Academy of Jazz in Siena and the Chiara Alesci Band, a pop-rock ensemble from the Ribera Conservatory, performed, accompanied by the screening of the documentary dedicated to the tour for the Osaka 2025 Expo.
On June 21, the stage hosted the Toscanini Percussion Ensemble, Sicilie in Jazz, Bellini in Jazz from the Corelli Conservatory of Messina, the Pop Ensemble from the Scontrino Conservatory of Trapani, and the Music4D Ensemble, formed by students from the conservatories of Ribera, Messina, Trapani, and Palermo.
Sciacca can be reached by car via the SS115 along the southern coast of Sicily; the nearest airports are Palermo and Trapani-Birgi. The concerts are held in the lower atrium of the Town Hall, in the city center.
Admission to the concerts is free. We recommend arriving early to secure a seat.
