Gerola Alta is one of the most characteristic villages of the Valtellina Orobie Alps, known for its cheeses (especially the famous Bitto) and its alpine landscapes. Mountains of Chocolate offers a different way to discover the town, combining the valley's gastronomic tradition with a spring festival day, ideal after Easter Monday outings in the province of Sondrio.
The 2026 edition will take place on Monday, April 6th, Easter Monday, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, in the historic center of Gerola Alta. The village comes alive with a food and wine trail dedicated to chocolate, with tastings along the village streets and workshops for children, including activities with LEGO bricks, for a festive afternoon in the mountains of Val Gerola.
Gerola Alta is located at the end of Val Gerola, in the province of Sondrio, reachable from the SP7 road that climbs from Morbegno and from the Valtellina. The event takes place in the historic center of the village.
Free admission to the trail. Tastings are paid. The event is held on Easter Monday afternoon, generally from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
