About Bema Mushroom Festival

In the small village of Bema, clinging to the mountains of the Orobie Valtellinesi Park, September smells of porcini mushrooms. The Mushroom Festival is the celebration that for forty years has honored the king of the undergrowth with traditional Valtellina dishes: polenta, risotto, and porcini gnocchi, wine tastings, a mycological exhibition, village walks, and live music. An authentic, free-admission event, organized by the Pro Loco, to discover a little-known and charming corner of the province of Sondrio.

The porcini mushroom festival in Bema

The Bema Mushroom Festival is the gastronomic event that every September enlivens the small village of Bema, in the province of Sondrio, nestled in the Orobie Valtellinesi Park. The absolute star is the porcini mushroom, celebrated with local traditional dishes.

The flavors of Valtellina

The stalls offer porcini specialties such as polenta, risotto, and gnocchi, accompanied by wine tastings. The mycological exhibition allows you to get to know the different species of the undergrowth up close, while walks through the village and live music complete a day of celebration dedicated to taste and conviviality.

A village to discover

Bema is one of those villages you reach by climbing through the woods, far from the most beaten tourist routes. The festival is the ideal opportunity to discover it: a few hundred inhabitants, alpine views, and a strong sense of community, in the heart of the Valtellina Orobie.

Pro Loco and tradition

Organized by Pro Loco Bema, the festival has free admission and is one of the most anticipated events of the local autumn. An event rooted in the territory, which combines the passion for mushroom picking with the mountain cuisine of the province of Sondrio.
