Monferrato on Stage is a travelling festival that has been combining live music with the food and wine excellence of Monferrato for over ten years, crossing the provinces of Turin, Asti, and Alessandria. Conceived and managed by the Fondazione MOS ETS, established in 2016 from an idea by president Cristiano Massaia, the event brings concerts, performances, and local culture to the squares and most picturesque villages of the Monferrato hills, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

The Portacomaro stop, a small municipality in the province of Asti nestled on the hills north of the provincial capital, is one of the most cherished events of the festival. The evening takes place in the heart of the village, along Via Vittorio Alfieri, which becomes a natural open-air stage for the occasion. Portacomaro is also a founding member of Monferrato Next, the project linked to the festival that looks to the future of the region.

Music and flavours of Monferrato

The Monferrato on Stage format goes beyond just concerts: every evening is a complete experience that intertwines entertainment with food and wine culture. In Portacomaro, live music is preceded by the food and wine area, managed by the volunteers of the Pro Loco "Portacöm'é" together with the Municipality, offering traditional Asti dishes and great Monferrato wines.

This formula, which combines a big name in Italian music with the warm hospitality of the village, makes the Portacomaro stop a festive moment capable of attracting music lovers, wine tourists, and visitors from all over the province of Asti and the rest of Piedmont.

A project for the region

Supported by the Piedmont Region, local authorities, and numerous public and private partners, Monferrato on Stage is much more than a music festival: it is a regional development project that connects municipalities, associations, and producers to promote Monferrato as a tourist and cultural destination.
