Jazz amidst the UNESCO-listed vineyards of Monferrato
The Monfrà Jazz Fest is one of the most evocative musical events in Piedmont, founded in 2018 and promoted by Le Muse Accademia Europea d'Arte. Every year, the festival brings life to the town of Casale Monferrato and numerous villages in the Alessandria province, nestled in the heart of the Monferrato wine landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The festival is part of the National Fund for Live Performance of the Ministry of Culture, a testament to its artistic excellence.
The ninth edition, scheduled from June 21 to September 13, 2026, is themed "Terre di Jazz: syncopated continents and off-course islands", a journey into music as a language without borders, capable of telling stories of roots, migrations, and new identities. The program features over thirty events and more than eighty artists, including several world premieres, spread across various locations in a dozen local municipalities.
The beating heart of the festival is the Paraboloide in Casale Monferrato, a restored former industrial site that hosts the main concerts. The festival then extends to the Valcerrina and to villages, castles, churches, cloisters, museums, and wine cellars of the Monferrato, creating a continuous dialogue between music and heritage. The Wine & Spirits section combines concerts with tastings in distilleries and wineries, highlighting the region's food and wine identity.
Between original music, world music, and the new generations of jazz, the Monfrà Jazz Fest is a unique opportunity to discover the Monferrato through the universal language of music.
The 2026 program, titled "Terre di Jazz: syncopated continents and off-course islands", is divided into several phases: the first leg in Casale Monferrato from June 21 to 28, the session in Valcerrina from August 13 to 16, and the closing with the Wine & Spirits section on September 12 and 13. The widespread program involves a dozen municipalities of the UNESCO Monferrato.
The main concerts will be held at the Paraboloide in Casale: June 23 with A Birchola and Israel Varela 5et, June 24 with the duo Paolo Fresu & Daniele Di Bonaventura and Danilo Rea & Martux_m, and June 25 with Lauryyn and the Javier Girotto & Fabrizio Bosso sextet. On June 21, four free afternoon concerts will animate the Synagogue, the churches, and the Seminary Chapel of Casale.
Casale Monferrato is accessible by car via the A26 and A21 motorway exits; by train, it is served by the Casale Monferrato station, with regional connections from Alessandria, Turin, and Vercelli. The villages of the Valcerrina are easily reached by car.
Main concerts at the Paraboloide start from approximately 20 euros (10 euros reduced); some special evenings cost 36 euros (18 euros reduced). A subscription for the three main evenings is available. Many events, such as the Heritage Sessions, are free of charge. Reservations and the full program are available at www.monjazzfest.it.
We recommend booking main concerts in advance and combining your visit with tours of the Monferrato vineyards and cellars. Discounts on tickets are often available for guests staying in local accommodation.
