PeM Music Contest - Final

The competition launching young talent in Monferrato

The PeM Music Contest is an annual music competition offering a showcase and a scholarship to young singer-songwriters and emerging bands from the province of Alessandria. Reserved for those under 35 who were born or reside in the province and write their own material (no covers), the contest is conceived and directed by journalist and cultural operator Enrico Deregibus and organized by the Country Sport Village of Mirabello Monferrato in collaboration with RadioGold.

The live final takes place in September at the Country Sport Village in the municipality of Mirabello Monferrato (Province of Alessandria, Piedmont), and represents one of the most anticipated events of the PeM! Festival - Parole e Musica in Monferrato, the Piedmontese festival of meetings, stories, and songs that brings dozens of Monferrato towns to life between late August and October.

How the contest works

Registration is free and open in the months leading up to the final, with a deadline of July 1st. From all applications, a committee selects three to five artists who compete for victory in the final evening, performing live in front of an audience and a jury of industry professionals.

• Reserved for singer-songwriters and groups under 35 born or residing in the province of Alessandria
• Unreleased and original tracks: contestants must be the authors of their own songs
• Free registration, with an application form available on the Country Sport Village and PeM Festival websites
• 3 to 5 finalists selected for the closing night

The prizes

The winner receives a plaque and a scholarship intended to cover expenses related to their musical activity, in addition to various opportunities for growth and local visibility. There is also a special prize awarded by a youth jury. For many artists, the PeM Music Contest has been a true springboard: past winners include Alo Eazy, Mabi, Linnverso, Nicola Project, and Pietro o Roma.

A stage in the heart of Monferrato

The final is held at the Country Sport Village in Mirabello Monferrato, set in the countryside of the Casale Monferrato area, and is part of the rich program of the PeM! Festival, which brings music and words to many villages in the Province of Alessandria. For the public, it is an opportunity to discover new local voices live during an evening with free admission.
