The widespread wine fair in the historic center of Moncalieri
Moncalieri in Vino is the food and wine event that brings the historic center of Moncalieri, a major town on the southern outskirts of Turin, Piedmont, to life. For an entire weekend, the streets and squares of the old town fill with tasting stands, wine glasses, and enthusiasts, in a widespread fair format that combines wine discovery with the promotion of the city's heritage.
The heart of the event is the grand Wine Fair set up between Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and Via San Martino: here, visitors can sample over 200 labels offered by dozens of Piedmontese and Italian wineries. Alongside the great local reds—from Barolo to Barbera, and Nebbiolo to the excellence of Monferrato—there are whites, sparkling wines, and indigenous productions from various regions of the peninsula, offering a sensory journey through terroirs and winemaking traditions.
The event is not just about free tasting: the program includes free masterclasses requiring mandatory registration, hosted in the evocative Ancient Hall of the City Council, dedicated each year to different territories and denominations. These are complemented by blind tastings led by sommeliers, thematic tours of the wineries, and educational workshops designed to introduce even the less experienced to the world of wine with curiosity and ease.
Between one glass and another, there is plenty of quality street food, featuring local specialties and gastronomic offerings designed to accompany the tastings. Live music fills the days, creating a convivial and relaxed atmosphere. Those who wish to combine the pleasure of wine with exploring the city can take advantage of guided tours of the Moncalieri Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Savoy residence, offered at a reduced rate for event participants.
Promoted as part of the Turin Wine Salon and Turin Wine Week network, Moncalieri in Vino is now a highly anticipated appointment in the Piedmontese food and wine calendar. The initiative involves restaurants, local businesses, and producers, transforming into an opportunity for regional promotion and widespread social interaction in the heart of Moncalieri, in the province of Turin.
The fifth edition of Moncalieri in Vino was held on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the historic center of Moncalieri, between Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and Via San Martino. The fair featured over 200 labels from dozens of Piedmontese and Italian wineries, with a tasting kit (glass, glass holder pouch, and unlimited tastings) available for 15 euros in presale and 20 euros on-site.
In the preceding days, from Tuesday, May 26, to Thursday, May 28, three free masterclasses (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM) were held in the Ancient Hall of the City Council, dedicated to great Sicilian wines, Lambrusco, and the Monferrato Riviera. The program was completed by blind tastings with Fisar Torino, winery tours, street food, live music, and reduced-rate visits to the Moncalieri Castle.
Moncalieri is easily reachable from Turin: by car via the ring road (Moncalieri exit) and by train using the SFM lines that connect Moncalieri station to the center of Turin in just a few minutes. From the station, the historic center is accessible on foot or via GTT public transport.
Admission to the fair is free. To taste the wines, you must purchase the tasting kit (official glass, glass holder pouch, and unlimited tastings): 15 euros in online presale, 20 euros on-site.
The free masterclasses require mandatory registration: it is advisable to book in advance. The Moncalieri Castle can be visited at a reduced rate for those wearing the tasting wristband.
