The Monastero di Vasco MTB Cross Country is one of the events that make up the Challenge MTB in Granda, the amateur mountain bike championship that enlivens the cycling season in the Province of Cuneo. The circuit brings together five cross-country races spread between spring and autumn, and the Monastero di Vasco stage is one of the highlights of the calendar, set in the heart of the Cuneo Langhe hills.

Mountain biking on the trails of the Langhe

The Challenge races take place on technical yet rideable courses, designed to be tackled by any amateur cyclist belonging to the categories provided for by the national technical regulations. In Monastero di Vasco, a small town nestled on the hills a few kilometers from Mondovì, the cross-country tracks wind through woods, dirt roads, and single tracks, offering athletes a mix of technical sections and faster stretches immersed in the Piedmontese landscape.

Open to all amateur categories

The event welcomes a wide range of categories: Beginners, Junior, Senior, Veterans, Gentlemen, Supergentlemen A and B, as well as the Women's category. Athletes in the Primavera and Supergentleman C categories are also welcome, although without a dedicated ranking. It is an event designed for grassroots cycling, where a passion for mountain biking counts for more than absolute performance.

A network of local associations

The Monastero di Vasco stage is organized by Mo.Va.Bike, the cycling group of ASD Monastero Vasco based in Piazza Don Andrea Dho, in collaboration with the ASD Centro Coordinamento Ciclismo Cuneo and the other clubs that drive the circuit (ASD Gorzegno, ASD Ma.Gi. Cuneo, and SC Trinità). The Challenge MTB in Granda is the result of this network of volunteers and enthusiasts who keep the tradition of amateur cross-country alive in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont.
