Every spring, the small village of Le Sieci, located in the municipality of Pontassieve near Florence, comes alive with one of the area's most anticipated events: the Mixed Fried Food Festival. Held at the S.M.S. Croce Azzurra - Val di Sieci branch on Piazza Sergio Chiari, the festival is a staple of the Valdisieve culinary calendar, attracting food lovers from across Tuscany every year.

A village menu dedicated to frying

The star of the show is, naturally, the mixed fry, served in various meat, fish, and vegetable versions. The menu goes beyond just fried dishes: the Croce Azzurra volunteers also prepare appetizers, pasta dishes, and traditional specialties, including desserts, for a complete meal served with the authentic charm of a village fair. Everything is prepared by the volunteers themselves, who create a warm and welcoming family atmosphere in the kitchen and dining room.

When and how

The festival takes place over two consecutive weekends in March. The restaurant is open for Saturday dinner, with two seatings, and Sunday lunch. Due to high demand and limited seating, reservations are strongly recommended by calling the dedicated number during the hours specified by the organizers.
