The longest-running food and wine festival in Abruzzo, held at the Pescara Tourist Port
Mediterranea is Abruzzo's most historic food and wine event. Established in the mid-1980s and organized by the Chieti Pescara Chamber of Commerce, it takes place every summer at the Marina di Pescara Tourist Port in the city of Pescara. For three evenings, the marina's piers and pavilions transform into a grand showcase of the region's flavors, craftsmanship, and experiential tourism, all with free admission.
The heart of the fair features over sixty exhibitors—nearly eighty for the 40th anniversary edition—including food and wine producers, wineries, agri-food companies, master artisans, and tourism operators showcasing the best of Abruzzo's four provinces. Alongside the stands, the public can enjoy a packed calendar of events:
As the name suggests, Mediterranea looks beyond Abruzzo: every edition engages with the gastronomic culture of the entire Mediterranean basin, hosting talks, meetings, and guests who explore the intersection of food, identity, and creativity. The fair also serves as a showcase for innovation, with spaces dedicated to foodtech and local digital enterprises, while highlighting the protected designations and local food heritage that define the Province of Pescara and all of Abruzzo.
With its stunning Adriatic seaside setting, free entry, and a program that blends haute cuisine, popular traditions, and entertainment, Mediterranea is the perfect summer appointment for anyone looking to discover the authentic flavors of Abruzzo in a single stroll through the Marina di Pescara stands.
The 40th anniversary edition of Mediterranea runs from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Marina di Pescara Tourist Port. The guest country of honor is Spain, represented by seven agri-food companies (including Ibericos Torreón and Cervezas La Cibeles) in a space dedicated to the meeting of excellence between the two countries. There are nearly eighty exhibitors, including producers, artisans, and tourism operators. The edition also celebrates the 30th anniversary of the DOP Olio Aprutino Pescarese and Colline Teatine. Free admission, every evening from 7:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
Every evening: street food area with Cerasuolo a Mare and Fermenti d'Abruzzo. The program is subject to change.
