A pub crawl throughout the month of May

The Mårtiner Dorfrunde is an established event in the life of the village of San Martino in Passiria (St. Martin in Passeier), in the heart of the Passeier Valley, in the autonomous province of Bolzano, South Tyrol. The formula is simple and engaging: for several Friday evenings in May, the village center becomes one large meeting place where people move freely from one venue to another, meet new people, have a drink, and decide whether to stay or move on to the next tavern.

Live music, Schuhplattler, and South Tyrolean flavors

Each evening is enlivened by live music suitable for all ages and the famous Schuhplattler, traditional Tyrolean dances where performers rhythmically strike their hands, thighs, and the soles of their shoes. Those who prefer a quieter atmosphere can choose a more intimate venue: the variety of meeting spots ensures everyone finds the perfect setting. Drinks are served in all venues, while several establishments also offer food, ranging from snacks to full menus featuring South Tyrolean culinary specialties.

The event involves numerous local spots, including hotels, bars, taverns, and breweries: participating venues include Hotel Jager Hans, Bar Unterwirt - Kellerei Passir, Gasthaus Lamm-Mitterwirt, Psairer Beck's Platzl, Pub Forelle, Hotel Pfandleralm, the Martinerhof brewery, and the Sportzentrum bar. The distribution of venues along the village center streets allows for a true evening walking tour, moving comfortably from one stop to the next.

Organized by the Passeier Valley Tourist Board in collaboration with the local HGV (Hoteliers and Restaurateurs Association) of San Martino, the Mårtiner Dorfrunde is much more than just an evening out: it is a way to experience the conviviality and traditions of the valley, highlighting local venues and producers. Admission is free, and the event, which is well-served by public transport, is designed for both residents and holiday guests to discover the hospitality and taste of San Martino in Passiria.
