Mario Biondi's soul at the Arena Plautina in Sarsina
On the evening of August 1st, 2026, the famous crooner from Catania, Mario Biondi, will take the stage at the Arena Plautina in Sarsina, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, one of the most anticipated summer stops on his tour. The setting is the evocative arena at the foot of the Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines, the birthplace of the Latin playwright Titus Maccius Plautus, which becomes a stage for major live events every summer.
The concert is part of the major tour with which Mario Biondi celebrates twenty years since the single "This Is What You Are" and the debut album "Handful of Soul" in 2006, the record that established him as one of the most recognizable soul-jazz voices on the international scene. The evening will also be an opportunity to hear tracks from "Prova d'autore", the artist's first album entirely in Italian, alongside the great classics of his repertoire.
Accompanying Biondi is an ensemble of top-level musicians: maestro Antonio Faraò on piano, one of the most important Italian jazz musicians recognized internationally, Massimo Greco (multi-instrumentalist and musical director), Matteo Cutello on trumpet, Giovanni Cutello on saxophone, Ameen Saleem on bass, and Devid Florio on percussion, guitar, and flute, with Nicolas Viccaro or Francesca Remigi on drums on rotation. A repertoire that blends original compositions, jazz standards, reinterpretations of Italian songs, and tracks that have made history.
The event is an opportunity to experience live musical culture in a place with strong historical charm. The Arena Plautina, in the Municipality of Sarsina, is an open-air space immersed in the nature of the Apennine Emilia-Romagna region, ideal for a summer night of soul and jazz. The tour is produced by Friends & Partners, with Radio Monte Carlo as the official radio partner.
The concert begins at 9:00 PM. Tickets are available on TicketOne and at the usual pre-sale outlets.
