The underlying idea is both simple and ambitious: to use contemporary culture to re-establish the link between people and the often-forgotten inland territories, and to transform the landscape and identity heritage of these villages into a living experience.
The role of Lunano
The small Municipality of Lunano, nestled on the slopes of Monte Illuminato in the upper Foglia Valley, joined the Happennino network in 2025, even hosting the inaugural event of the eighth edition. For a town of a few thousand inhabitants, this means becoming, for a few days, a cultural stage of national significance, capable of attracting writers, musicians, and hikers through its streets and most evocative places, such as the area of the Convent of Monte Illuminato.
What to expect
Happennino's program is deliberately multidisciplinary and designed for those who love to combine the discovery of places with encounters with artists and thinkers. Among the recurring proposals of the festival, you will find:

Where it takes place
Happennino events in Lunano (CAP 61026, Province of Pesaro and Urbino) are held in the village and in the most characteristic places of the town, such as the area of the Convent of Monte Illuminato. How to get there
By car: Lunano is accessible from the SS73 bis Urbinate; the most convenient motorway exit is Pesaro-Urbino on the A14, from which you continue towards the hinterland. As these are Apennine villages, a car is the most practical means of transport between the different stages.
