Le Città Visibili is one of the most recognizable cultural events of the Rimini summer. Founded in 2014 and curated by Tamara Balducci, the festival has built a precise identity over the years: to bring contemporary theatre, dance, performance, and music outside conventional venues, into the living spaces of the city. The name, inspired by Italo Calvino, clearly conveys the underlying idea: to make the city visible, to traverse and re-inhabit it through the lens of art.
Where it takes place
The strength of this event lies in its widespread nature. Performances are spread across multiple venues in the Municipality of Rimini, the capital of the province of the same name in Emilia-Romagna: the Teatro degli Atti, the Corte degli Agostiniani, the Arena Francesca da Rimini, the former Astoria cinema, the rooftop of the Museo della Città, and the Cast Oro Teatro. In recent editions, the event has even extended beyond the urban perimeter, with events immersed in the landscape of the Romagna hinterland, among hills and villages.

The programme alternates between prominent names on the Italian and international theatre scene and experimental companies, balancing established languages with emerging proposals. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists such as Roberto Latini, Marta Cuscunà, Olivier Dubois, and companies like Teatro Sotterraneo, Fanny&Alexander, and Kepler-452. As in previous editions, a programme is expected that blends contemporary theatre, dance, performance, and a music section, spread across the festival's historic venues — from the Teatro degli Atti to the Corte degli Agostiniani, and up to the rooftop of the Museo della Città.

How to get there
Rimini is easily accessible by train (Rimini station on the Adriatic line Bologna–Ancona) and by car via the A14 motorway, exit Rimini Sud or Rimini Nord. Federico Fellini Airport in Rimini-San Marino is just a few kilometres from the centre.
