Running Through the Trails of Mont Blanc
The Licony Trail is one of the most beloved mountain races in Valdigne, the Aosta Valley region stretching at the foot of Mont Blanc. The course winds through the trails of three neighboring municipalities — Morgex, La Salle, and Pré-Saint-Didier — offering participants forests, mule tracks, and scenic views of Europe's highest peaks.
Two Routes for Every Runner
The race features two competitive distances: the long route of 33 km with 2,200 meters of positive elevation gain, reserved for the most trained trail runners, and the short route of 13 km with 450 meters of elevation gain, also available in a non-competitive version for those who prefer a more relaxed experience.
The Baby Licony for Children
The celebration extends to children: the Baby Licony Trail, scheduled for Saturday, offers age-appropriate distances — 500 meters for 6-8 year olds, 1 km for 8-11 year olds, and 2 km for 12-14 year olds — introducing younger participants to mountain running in a fun and safe way.
A Community Celebration
Organized by the Pro Loco of Morgex in collaboration with the local AVIS section and the municipal administrations, the Licony Trail goes beyond pure competition: at the finish line, after the awards ceremony, the day continues with a dinner and a DJ set that transform the event into a grand celebration of sport, mountains, and community in the heart of the Aosta Valley.
Licony Trail — edition 2026
On June 6, 2026, the Licony Trail returns for its eleventh edition. For 2026, the route has been revamped, favoring mid-slope trails that are less prone to snow accumulation and more runnable. The two competitive distances and the Baby Licony for children are confirmed, with the usual festive atmosphere at the finish line.

- 11:30 AM - Start of the short route, 13 km with 450 m elevation gain (also non-competitive)
- Baby Licony Trail - Children's races: 500 m (6-8 years), 1 km (8-11 years), 2 km (12-14 years)
- Following: awards ceremony, then dinner and DJ set
Renewed 2026 route on more runnable mid-slope trails. Online registration on Wedosport until June 4th (40 euros for 33 km, 25 euros for 13 km); on-site registration possible with a supplement.

How to Get There
The race takes place between Morgex, La Salle, and Pré-Saint-Didier, in Valdigne. They are reachable by car from the A5 motorway (Morgex-La Salle and Pré-Saint-Didier exits) and from the SS26 state road. Start and finish are near the towns, clearly marked on race days.
Registration and Fees
Online registration via Wedosport. The indicative fee is 40 euros for the 33 km route and 25 euros for the 13 km route. On-site registration may be possible with a supplement.
