A day of games, workshops, and flowers for the whole family at Parco Galvagno
Let's Make Marene Bloom is one of the most beloved events in the spring calendar of the town of Marene, a small center in the Cuneo plains of Piedmont. For over ten years, the parents' association La Baracca dei Birbanti ODV, in collaboration with the Municipality of Marene and numerous local entities, has transformed Parco Galvagno into a large space for play, creativity, and sharing for both young and old.
The heart of the event is the simple and symbolic act of planting flowers: every child plants their own little seedling and takes home a pot to care for, while other flowers are destined for public spaces to beautify the town. It is a concrete and poetic way to teach the little ones respect for the environment, nature, and common goods, truly making Marene "bloom".
The afternoon is filled with activities for all ages, set up in the park by local associations and organizations:
The beauty of Let's Make Marene Bloom is the collective participation: alongside the parents and volunteers of La Baracca dei Birbanti, the Gruppi Alpini (Alpine Groups) take the field to provide refreshments, older children help with the setup, and the kindergartens of Marene and Madonna del Pilone join in, along with guests from local elderly care facilities. The result is an intergenerational festival that combines play, solidarity, and landscape care, capable of involving the entire town in an afternoon of smiles.
The event takes place in spring at Parco Galvagno in Marene, in the province of Cuneo, generally in June, from the early afternoon until late afternoon. Participation is free, but online registration is required to best organize materials and activities.
