A weekend of taste, culture, and identity in Lentini
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Lentini and its Flavours is a food and wine event created to celebrate the food culture and local products of Lentini, a town in the Piana di Catania area in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. Promoted by the Municipality of Lentini in collaboration with Slow Food Lentini, with the patronage of the Order of Food Technologists and the support of the Sicilian Regional Department of Agriculture, the festival transforms the Circolo Alaimo into a vibrant laboratory of flavours, knowledge, and local stories.
The festival's central theme revolves around two pillars of Mediterranean material culture: wine and bread. These symbols are deeply intertwined with the agricultural history of Lentini, while also serving as a lens through which to explore new visions, innovation, and sustainable development. These themes are brought to life through conferences, talks, tastings, and social gatherings that bridge the gap between peasant traditions and contemporary research.
The program features a mix of cooking shows and workshops alongside two thematic conferences, designed to engage enthusiasts, producers, restaurateurs, and curious visitors alike. The stage hosts chefs, sommeliers, bakers, historians, and food technologists in an open dialogue between tradition and modern culinary trends. Guided tastings accompany the sessions, offering the chance to sample wines made from ancient grape varieties and rediscover the value of local bread.
More than just a food festival, Lentini and its Flavours is a cultural project that connects institutions, associations, and producers to restore focus to the city's agri-food roots. The event is part of the ongoing efforts by Slow Food Lentini to promote the local area, which also includes the valorization of the Red Orange of Sicily and other excellence of the Piana di Catania.
The festival is traditionally held between late May and early June. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the organizers; updates will be published on the official channels of the Municipality of Lentini and Slow Food Lentini.
