About Le Notti del Vino

On the night of San Lorenzo, Barolo transforms into an open-air lounge dedicated to the King of Wines. Piazza Falletti and the castle courtyard host guided tastings of Barolo DOCG, samplings of Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo D.O.P. and artisanal cheeses, live music, evening access to the WiMu - Wine Museum, and stargazing with telescopes. A unique evening blending oenology, culture, and poetry in the iconic village of the UNESCO-listed Langhe hills.

A night of stars and fine wines in the heart of the Langhe

Every summer, on the magical night of San Lorenzo, the village of Barolo (Province of Cuneo, Piedmont) lights up for Le Notti del Vino, an evening entirely dedicated to the King of Wines. The event is part of the national calendar promoted by Cittร  del Vino, which brings Italian wine villages to life each year with tastings, music, and culture. In Barolo, however, it takes on a special charm: here, you drink Barolo DOCG in the very town that gave it its name, beneath the starry sky of the UNESCO-listed hills.

Barolo's Barolo, the star of the evening

The heart of the event is the Barolo tasting, offered directly by the local wineries and estates in Piazza Falletti, the historic square at the foot of the Castle. Accompanying the glasses are the culinary treasures of the Cuneo area: Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo D.O.P., courtesy of the Protection Consortium, and a selection of artisanal cheeses from the Caseificio Moris in Caraglio. A pairing that tells the story of the gastronomic richness of the province's valleys and hills in just a few bites.

Between museums, escape rooms, and wishes under the stars

The evening is about more than just wine. The WiMu - Wine Museum of Barolo, housed within Castello Falletti, remains open for a special late-night session, offering its famous emotional journey through the evolution of wine and oenological culture. For those seeking a bit of adventure, the Castle hosts two sessions of the Castle Angels escape room, while the wishing tree invites visitors to hang a note with a dream or a wish from its branches. The event also features live music and, in honor of the night of San Lorenzo, astronomical observation with telescopes pointed toward the shooting stars.

Barolo, capital of Piedmontese wine

Visiting Barolo during Le Notti del Vino means discovering one of the most charming villages in Piedmont: a few hundred inhabitants, a castle overlooking the vineyards, and a name known worldwide. The event is organized by the Barolo & Castles Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Barolo and the Pro Loco of Barolo, making it one of the most evocative summer appointments in the Langheโ€”the perfect occasion to combine a high-level tasting experience with the allure of a village that is an icon of Italian oenology.
