Long summer evenings in the historic center of Lana
Lana23°° – Lange Sommerabende (literally "Lana Summer Evenings") is the festival that transforms the historic center of Lana, in the province of Bolzano, into a vibrant evening meeting point for both residents and visitors every summer. The name refers to the town's latitude and the concept of long, bright evenings: from late June to mid-August, for eight consecutive Thursdays, the life of this South Tyrolean village moves outdoors, blending shopping, gastronomy, and music.
The heart of the event is the Am Gries pedestrian zone, the main street in the center of Lana, which becomes an open-air stage for the occasion. Every Thursday, shops remain open until 9:30 PM, while stalls set up along the street—featuring artistic crafts, original creations, and local products—welcome visitors until 11:00 PM. The evenings generally run from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, in a relaxed atmosphere that invites leisurely strolling.
The soundtrack of the evenings is provided by live music: local bands and ensembles perform jazz, folk, and various other styles that enliven the squares and corners of the town center. The quality of the musical program is curated by the artistic direction of saxophonist and jazz musician Helga Plankensteiner, a native of Lana, who selects the participating artists year after year.
To reach and leave Lana comfortably and environmentally friendly, the Nightliner evening shuttle service is active during the event, a concrete contribution by the organizers to more sustainable mobility.
Organized by the Lana and Surroundings Tourist Association, Lana23°° has become a staple of the summer in the Municipality of Lana and the entire Merano area, in Trentino-South Tyrol. It combines the town's commercial appeal, South Tyrolean culinary richness, and high-quality musical programming, offering tourists and residents an authentic and relaxed way to experience summer evenings in the mountains. Admission to the entire event is free.
In 2026, Lana23°° once again accompanies the summer in the center of Lana with eight Thursday evenings, from June 25 to August 13, from approximately 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The Am Gries pedestrian zone hosts evening shopping (shops open until 9:30 PM), craft and local product stalls (until 11:00 PM), food stands with South Tyrolean specialties, and live music curated by the artistic direction of Helga Plankensteiner. The Nightliner shuttle service is active. The detailed musical program for each evening is announced by the Lana and Surroundings Tourist Association in the weeks preceding the events.
Lana is located just a few kilometers from Merano, in South Tyrol. By car: take the A22 Brenner motorway to Bolzano Sud, then the MeBo expressway towards Merano, taking the Lana/Postal exit. By train: arrive at Merano or Bolzano station, then take the local bus to Lana.
Every Thursday evening, from late June to mid-August, approximately from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Shops open until 9:30 PM, stalls until 11:00 PM.
Event with free admission.
The Nightliner evening shuttle service is available during the event evenings.
