Contemporary art, dance, and music in the 7 Gardens of Kränzelhof in Cermes
K.art ART DAYS is the annual open-air contemporary art event held in the 7 Gardens of Kränzelhof, a medieval estate and winery nestled in the vineyards of Cermes/Tscherms, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. Organized by the Kulturverein K.art, the festival transforms the themed gardens, the labyrinth, and the spaces of the Merano basin for an entire weekend into an open-air museum, where sculptures, installations, and conceptual works intertwine with nature, the vineyard, and the historic architecture of the ancient farmstead.
Each edition revolves around a theme that guides the invited artists and flows through all the works exhibited in the gardens. The program goes beyond the exhibition: during the festival, contemporary dance performances, storytelling shows, readings, workshops, and live concerts animate the most evocative corners of the estate. Admission is free, and the public is free to wander among the installations, meet the artists, and experience the garden in an intimate and participatory dimension.
The festival's setting is one of the most fascinating places in South Tyrol: the Kränzelhof estate, with its vineyards arranged between 300 and 600 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Merano basin, hosts seven lush gardens, including a famous labyrinth, and a permanent trail of sculptures by local and international artists. Winery, art, and landscape coexist in an experience that combines tasting, culture, and botanical walks.
K.art ART DAYS has become a reference point for the cultural scene of the Burgraviato (Merano area) and attracts visitors from all over South Tyrol every year. Over the editions, the event has involved dozens of artists — from painting to sculpture, from workshops to interactive performances — confirming itself as one of the most appreciated open-air contemporary art events in the province of Bolzano.
The 2026 edition, held on June 27 and 28, celebrated the twenty years of the Kränzelhof Art Garden with an exhibition dedicated to the theme «FRAUEN» (Women), explored in all its facets: body, posture, expression, vulnerability, dedication. Sixteen artists exhibited works and installations throughout the gardens.
Saturday program (from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM): opening of the exhibition with live music by Giada Sebastiani; the storytelling performance «Lightmindedness – Selfishness and Magic» by Tiziana Turci and Ivo F. Egger; the dance performance «smells like a rose» by Sophie Lazari, on the theme of female role models and the transformation of pain.
Sunday program (from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM): the performance «Die Ausgestoßene» by Evelyn Rier and Sophie Lazeri; the contemporary dance «An der Kante» by Kollektiv XX, choreographed by Julia Inderst; to close, the celebratory moment for the garden's twentieth anniversary with a speech by Franz von Pfeil and live jazz by Susi4Jazz.
The Kränzelhof is located at Gampenstraße 1c, 39010 Cermes/Tscherms (BZ), at the foot of Merano. By car, it can be reached via the Adige Valley state road, with parking available at the estate. By bus, it is served by line 211 (Postal/Gargazzone–Lana–Merano) with a stop at Sportzone Tscherms/Cermes.
Admission to K.art ART DAYS is free. The Kränzelhof winery and gardens are normally open every day from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Information: +39 0473 564549 — [email protected].
We recommend comfortable footwear for walking through the gardens and the labyrinth. The visit pairs perfectly with a tasting of the estate's wines and a stop at the farm's bistro.
