A night of food, art, and secret courtyards in Faenza's District A
The Itinerant Dinner is the most anticipated event in District A, the artistically dense neighborhood in the historic center of Faenza, in the province of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna. For one night only, the streets, squares, and hidden places of the district light up and become a large, widespread route to be explored on foot, following a map of food, wine, music, and art. Access to the route is free: there is no single table, but an entire city to explore step by step.
The charm of the event lies in its locations: over thirty spaces normally private or closed to the public—hidden courtyards, studios, professional offices, homes, museums, galleries, and workshops—open their doors to welcome visitors. Walking during the Itinerant Dinner means discovering corners of Faenza that usually remain invisible, rediscovering urban memory and the network of relationships that bring the neighborhood to life.
The gastronomic soul is entrusted to over thirty gastronomic points—restaurants, taverns, bakeries, independent kitchens, pastry shops, bars, and chefs—accompanied by about thirty wineries, breweries, and beverage providers, featuring local wines, craft beers, cocktails, vermouth, and Romagnol drinks. Each dish and each glass is specially designed for the evening, in a continuous dialogue between food and wine tradition and experimentation.
Alongside the food, the Itinerant Dinner offers a rich cultural program: about twenty events including exhibitions, installations, open artist studios, sound and visual performances, guided tours, and site-specific interventions. It is this blend of gastronomy and creativity that makes the event unique in the landscape of Romagnol events.
Entrance to the route and spaces is free. To taste food and drinks, you can purchase the kit with a Free Pass, a glass, and a glass holder at the ticket points, which allows you to move freely between the gastronomic points and supports the organization of the event. It is a perfect opportunity to experience Faenza in a convivial, slow, and participatory way, with friends and the curious.
The 2026 edition of the Itinerant Dinner, the nineteenth, brought the theme "FuoriTrama – no tripe for cats" to Faenza's District A: an invitation to read the territory as a living fabric, made of visible and invisible threads—gestures, knowledge, recipes, artists, vineyards, and workshops. The artwork for the evening was created by artist Jan Angelini, aka Robak.
The evening, starting at 7:00 PM, involved over 30 spaces in the district with 33 points marked on the map, over 30 gastronomic points, and about thirty wineries, breweries, and beverage providers. The cultural program offered about twenty events including exhibitions, installations, open studios, and performances.
