The Tuscan stage of the national enduro championship in the hills of the upper Valtiberina
In Anghiari, a stunning village in the province of Arezzo overlooking the Tuscan Valtiberina, one of the rounds of the Italian Under23/Senior/Women's Enduro Championship is held, the national series promoted by the Italian Motorcycling Federation (FMI). The organization is entrusted to Moto Club Adventures, a local group that turns the Anghiari territory into a stage for the best Italian off-road specialists every year.
The course designed through the hills around Anghiari is a complete technical challenge: a loop of approximately 60 kilometers to be repeated three times, with timed special stages that test the riders' skill and endurance. The two characteristic tests are the Cross Test, designed on a sloping grassy field, and the Enduro Test, set on mixed terrain of rock and dirt. When the weather turns for the worse, the mud makes the track slippery and selective, separating the champions from the rest of the pack.
The Anghiari race gathers over 250 riders from every region, divided into the championship's numerous categories: from the youngest Cadetti 50 and 125, to the Junior classes, up to the Senior A, B, and C categories and the Women's class. The Tuscan stage also hosts the Husqvarna Challenge, the one-make series reserved for owners of motorcycles from the Swedish manufacturer. It is an event that brings dozens of teams, mechanics, families, and enthusiasts to the upper Valtiberina, enlivening the Municipality of Anghiari for an entire weekend.
The setting is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy: Anghiari, in Tuscany, is famous for the battle immortalized by Leonardo da Vinci and for its medieval historic center. The enduro race adds a contemporary sporting dimension to this heritage, attracting a crowd of enthusiasts who flock to the edges of the special stages to follow the motorcycle action live. For the province of Arezzo and for Tuscany, it is a showcase that combines motors, nature, and hospitality.
The Anghiari stage is not an isolated event, but one of the appointments on the FMI national enduro calendar, which crosses Italy from north to south with rounds held in different regions. The results obtained in the Arezzo hills weigh directly on the championship standings, making every stopwatch reading decisive for the Italian title race.
The second round of the 2026 Italian Under23/Senior/Women's Enduro Championship brought over 250 off-road specialists to Anghiari, in the province of Arezzo. The Moto Club Adventures had set up a course of approximately 60 kilometers to be repeated three times, with a sloping Cross Test and an Enduro Test on rock and dirt.
The day was marked by bad weather: rain made the Enduro Test slippery, putting competitors to the test on the sloping track. Of the 251 riders who started, 236 completed the run before the race director decided to stop everything at the end of the second lap, allowing only four of the seven scheduled special stages to take place. The awards ceremony was moved indoors, to the gym, given the impossibility of setting it up outdoors.
The day included three laps of a 60 km loop with timed special stages. Due to bad weather, the race was interrupted after the second lap, with four special stages held out of the seven planned.
Starters: 251 riders โ finishers: 236.
