The Arezzo half marathon running through the streets of the Tuscan city
The Arezzo City Half Marathon is one of the most anticipated road races of the Tuscan autumn running season. Organized by U.P. Policiano Arezzo Atletica, the event attracts around a thousand participants every year, including elite athletes, amateur runners, and enthusiasts who choose to discover the city of Arezzo while running through its streets. The 27th edition is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, with the start and finish in the heart of the city, at Piazza Guido Monaco.
The event offers several races to suit every level of preparation:
The course winds through the streets and districts of Arezzo, touching the city's most characteristic areas. The start, set for 9:30 AM, kicks off a morning of sport that brings the city center and local neighborhoods to life.
The Arezzo Half Marathon also hosts several Italian Category Championships reserved for doctors, bank employees, and insurance professionals, attracting runners from all over Italy to Tuscany. Time bonuses are available for the fastest athletes, while early registrants are guaranteed a race pack, medal, and commemorative sweatshirt.
The event is not just about competition: the "Il Cuore in Corsa" project raises funds to equip city schools with defibrillators and to support educational and health prevention initiatives. A charitable vocation that makes the Half Marathon an event deeply felt by the entire Arezzo community.
Promoted with the support of the Municipality of Arezzo, the Province of Arezzo, the Tuscany Region, FIDAL, and CONI, the Half Marathon is an opportunity to discover Arezzo from an unusual perspective. Between Renaissance squares, tree-lined avenues, and popular districts, the race crosses the soul of the capital of Eastern Tuscany, offering residents and visitors a day of sporting celebration.
The 2026 edition of the Arezzo City Half Marathon, the 27th in its history, confirms the proven format of the event organized by U.P. Policiano. The meeting point is set for 8:00 AM in Piazza Guido Monaco, with the start scheduled for 9:30 AM.
The distances are confirmed: the certified 21.097 km competitive half marathon, the shorter competitive race, the 3.5 km non-competitive run, and the "Il Cuore in Corsa" walk dedicated to schools. There is also room for the Italian Category Championships for doctors, bank employees, and insurance professionals. Registration is available at www.icron.it, with a fee of €15 for competitive races.
