The largest traveling street food festival stops at the Gazometro in Rome
In the heart of the Ostiense district, along the Lungotevere Riva Ostiense and in the shadow of Rome's historic Gazometro, one of the most anticipated stops of the International Street Food tour comes to life. Widely recognized by the public and critics alike as the largest traveling street food festival in our country, the event transforms this stretch of the riverbank into a massive open-air village of taste for an entire weekend, where scents, flavors, and traditions from every corner of the planet meet in the Capital.
The heart of the festival is an authentic gastronomic world tour. Along the street food stalls, you can sample sweet Hungarian Kürtős, Calabrian and Mexican specialties, churros, Abruzzese arrosticini, hot dogs, fresh fruit, smoothies, fried pizza, Argentine and Indian cuisine, Thai street food, quality beef burgers, and traditional puccia. To complete the experience, there is a selection of craft beers from both Italian and international labels, alongside carefully prepared cocktails.
International Street Food is designed as an immersive and convivial experience, suitable for families, young people, and food lovers. Admission is completely free, and the open-air format on the banks of the Tiber invites you to stroll among the stalls, discover distant cuisines, and spend hours celebrating in good company. The Roman stop is part of the festival's long national circuit, which travels through dozens of Italian cities every year, bringing street food culture everywhere.
Organized by A.I.R.S. - Associazione Italiana Ristoratori di Strada, led by president Alfredo Orofino, the event has successfully promoted and showcased the world of street food, even through television coverage dedicated to the sector. The choice of the Gazometro area in the Ostiense district of Rome (Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in Lazio) combines the charm of the Capital's industrial archaeology with the festive and popular atmosphere of one of Italy's most famous traveling gastronomic events.
From June 5th to 7th, 2026, the Lungotevere Riva Ostiense hosted the 40th stop of the 10th edition of International Street Food. Three days dedicated to global flavors, with international and regional specialties, craft beers, and cocktails, in an open-air setting suitable for families and young people.
