Monteverde Estate: local culture in the heart of Rome's Municipio XII

Monteverde Estate is the summer cultural festival that transforms Largo Alessandrina Ravizza into a vibrant hub of music, words, and social connection every year. Located in the Monteverde district within Rome's Municipio XII, the event offers a diverse and entirely free programme, designed as an authentic alternative to mass tourism and a chance to rediscover the city's most genuine neighborhoods.

A multifunctional stage for the entire summer

At the heart of the festival is a multifunctional stage equipped with seating and recreational areas, complemented by a food & beverage zone featuring street food and a cocktail bar. Every evening from 6 PM to midnight, the space becomes a gathering point for residents, art, music, and literature lovers, families, and young people. Special attention is paid to accessibility: the spaces and content are designed to be inclusive for people with disabilities.

The 2026 festival programme

The schedule is divided into several thematic series that alternate throughout the season:

• Suoni di Domani — live concerts featuring emerging local artists.
• Voci Nuove, Radici Forti — live music nurturing the future of local culture.
• Trame in Comune — a series of meetings with authors and contemporary thinkers.
• Parole Vive — evenings dedicated to theatre and stand-up comedy.
• Radici Urbane — a meeting space for neighborhood associations.

The format prioritizes emerging talent and the local cultural scene, offering a showcase for young musicians, authors, and theatre companies from the Roman area.

Estate Romana and neighborhood identity

Monteverde Estate is part of the Estate Romana, the major event series promoted by the City of Rome – Department of Culture, which brings culture to every corner of the city each year. The festival interprets this mission with a local focus: not a large, centralized event, but a community gathering that strengthens the bond between citizens and their neighborhood, blending popular tradition with new voices of urban creativity.

Situated in a green, residential area in western Rome, just a short walk from the Gianicolo and Villa Doria Pamphilj, the event offers visitors a different way to experience a Roman summer: understated, participatory, and human-scale.
