The theatre, music, and cabaret festival at the Cine-Teatro Olimpia in Campobello di Mazara
Il Bello di Sicilia is a theatre, music, and cabaret festival held at the Cine-Teatro Olimpia "Gregorio Mangiagli" in Campobello di Mazara, a town in the province of Trapani overlooking the Belรฌce Valley, just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean coast. Created to restore the historic venue to the centre of local cultural life, the festival offers an annual winter season that weaves together drama, concerts, variety, and comedy, with a programme designed for a wide and varied audience.
The strength of the event lies in its ability to bring artists well-known to the general public to a provincial town. Featuring acclaimed plays, musical tributes, and comedy shows, the Cine-Teatro Olimpia welcomes stars of Italian cinema, television, and music, alternating moments of reflection with evenings of pure entertainment. Performances take place on weekends, with events spread throughout the winter and spring seasons.
The festival is promoted by Quintosol Production, under the artistic direction of Piero Di Stefano and Giacomo Maltese, and is supported by the Municipality of Campobello di Mazara and the Libero Consorzio Comunale of Trapani. Over the years, the event has earned the trust of the local public, selling out almost every performanceโa testament to the deep bond between the theatre and the Campobello community.
The heart of the festival is the Cine-Teatro Olimpia "Gregorio Mangiagli" on Via Garibaldi, a historic town venue brought back to life by this very season of shows. Its reopening has provided Campobello di Mazara with a reclaimed space of identity, now capable of hosting concerts, plays, and variety shows in a warm and familiar atmosphere.
More than just a theatre season, Il Bello di Sicilia has become a cultural landmark for Western Sicily, attracting spectators from Campobello di Mazara and neighbouring towns in the Trapani area. The festival combines the quality of its line-up with accessible ticket pricing, offering subscription packages and accepting the "Carta del Docente" (Teacher's Card), confirming its status as one of the most vibrant winter offerings in the region.
The third edition of Il Bello di Sicilia opened on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at the Cine-Teatro Olimpia in Campobello di Mazara with the show Unplugged d'Autore by Claudia Gerini, accompanied on guitar by Giandomenico Anellino. The season featured seven events, alternating between plays, concerts, and cabaret.
The line-up included the comedy duo Toti e Totino, singer Francesca Alotta, actor Ernesto Maria Ponte, comedian Roberto Lipari, and percussionist Tony Esposito, who paid tribute to the music of Pino Daniele on 18 April. The festival closed on 31 May 2026 with the Orchestra Luna Rossa in a tribute to Renzo Arbore, performing to a packed theatre.
Promoted by Quintosol Production under the artistic direction of Piero Di Stefano and Giacomo Maltese, with the patronage of the Municipality of Campobello di Mazara, the 2026 edition was a sell-out success.
