The trophy exhibition of the Chiese, Giudicarie, Ledro, and Rendena wildlife districts in Tione di Trento
The Hunting Trophy Exhibition is the annual showcase of trophies from ungulates harvested during the previous hunting season within the Chiese, Giudicarie, Ledro, and Rendena wildlife districts. The event is held in Tione di Trento, the main town of the Giudicarie, at the Sesena Bocciodromo, in an easily accessible location between Tione and Preore, set within a green area equipped with a sports field, a cycle path, and a park.
The heart of the event is the exhibition of over a thousand trophies of roe deer, red deer, chamois, and mouflon, coming from approximately 40 hunting reserves and representing hundreds of associated hunters. The exhibition stems from the work of the Councils of the Hunting Reserve Rectors of the district's wildlife areas and serves as a moment for public verification of culling plans and alpine wildlife management, as well as a showcase of the valleys' hunting tradition.
The event goes beyond displaying trophies, becoming an opportunity for experts, hunters, and the public to discuss central themes for the mountains: wildlife and biodiversity management, trail maintenance and meadow cleaning, land protection, and the transmission of environmental values to new generations. Hunters are presented as custodians of the land, figures who contribute to the care of the Trentino mountain environment.
Alongside the exhibition, there are stands, a bar, and a catering service: during the social gatherings, several hundred meals are served, testifying to the strong roots of the exhibition in the Giudicarie community. The family-friendly atmosphere and the equipped area make the event suitable for families as well. The initiative is sponsored by the Municipalities of Tione di Trento and Tre Ville and is traditionally accompanied by the presence of authorities from the Autonomous Province of Trento.
In the context of Trentino-Alto Adige, ungulate hunting is historically linked to the management of the alpine territory and the relationship between mountain communities and the environment. The Tione Exhibition, in the Province of Trento, is one of the events that best tells this story, combining tradition, sociality, and a current reflection on the coexistence of hunting activities, wildlife protection, and the ecological challenges of the present.
The 2026 Hunting Trophy Exhibition was held on May 2 and 3, 2026, at the Sesena Bocciodromo in Tione di Trento. The exhibition brought together over 1,000 trophies of roe deer, red deer, chamois, and mouflon collected during the 2025 hunting season in approximately 40 hunting reserves of the Chiese, Giudicarie, Ledro, and Rendena wildlife districts.
The event, organized by the Tione Reserve with the exhibition committee led by Fabrizio Pizzini, saw the participation of the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento Maurizio Fugatti, the Provincial Councilor for Hunting Roberto Failoni, Provincial Councilor Vanessa Masè, and the Mayor of Tione Eugenio Antolini. The rector of the Tione reserve, Giuseppe Salvaterra, expressed satisfaction with the great success, evidenced by the approximately 700 meals served during the social gatherings. The central themes of the conferences were wildlife and biodiversity management, land care, and the transmission of environmental values to new generations.
Saturday, May 2: Opening of the trophy exhibition, exhibition stands, bar, and catering service.
Sunday, May 3: Continuation of the exhibition, social gatherings, and visit by provincial authorities (President Fugatti, Councilor Failoni), with speeches dedicated to alpine wildlife management and the role of hunters in land care.
The Sesena Bocciodromo is located in the Sesena area, between Tione di Trento and Preore, in the municipality of Tione di Trento (Province of Trento). By car: Tione can be reached via the SS237 del Caffaro; from Trento, follow the SS45bis and the SS237 towards Giudicarie.
The exhibition is free to enter. There is a bar and catering service with social dining moments.
Organized by the Councils of the Hunting Reserve Rectors of the Chiese, Giudicarie-Ledro, and Rendena wildlife districts, in collaboration with the Trentino Hunters Association (Via Guardini 41, Trento, tel. +39 0461 825834).
