Three days of tradition, sport, and equestrianism at the Velodromo Francone
In the heart of the Canavese, just outside Turin, the town of San Francesco al Campo hosts one of the area's most cherished local festivals every year in late May: the Horse Festival. Organized by the Pro Loco with the support of the municipal administration, the event transforms the Velodromo Francone and its surrounding areas for three days into a vibrant village where the equestrian world meets local tradition, sport, and entertainment for all ages.
What began as a small local celebration has evolved over the years into a major attraction for the entire province of Turin and Piedmont, drawing equestrian enthusiasts, families, and curious visitors alike. While the horse remains the central theme—starring in rallies, skill games, and demonstrations—the program has expanded year after year to include activities that go far beyond horse riding.
The Horse Festival is, above all, a community celebration: the Palio dei Borghi engages the various districts of San Francesco al Campo in friendly competition, while markets, vintage car displays, and themed collections round out a program designed to involve both adults and children. It is a weekend that captures the rural and welcoming spirit of this corner of the Canavese, in the province of Turin.
The 25th Horse Festival of San Francesco al Campo, in the province of Turin, celebrated a major milestone with an edition described as record-breaking in terms of turnout and activities. Three days of events at the Velodromo Francone, organized by the Pro Loco and the municipal administration, blending the equestrian world, tradition, and fun for all ages.
Velodromo Francone, Via Ghetto 1, San Francesco al Campo (TO), in the Canavese area, approximately 25 km north of Turin.
