Six historic cellars, a journey of taste through Valtellina wines
The Traona stop of the Gustosando in Valtellina circuit is a food and wine walk that takes you through six historic cellars in the village, in the province of Sondrio. Each cellar is a stop on the route: starting with an appetizer and ending with dessert, with traditional Valtellina dishes served paired with the great wines of the region. A travelling format that invites you to walk, taste, and get to know the village cellar by cellar.
The route offers carefully studied pairings between mountain cuisine and Valtellina wines. Among the offerings in recent editions: sciatt and taroz, Valtellina-style gnocchetti, cured meats and alpine cheeses with rye bread, and a buckwheat and blueberry cake. Paired in the glass are Rhaetian Alps IGT whites, local reds, and prestigious Grumello and La Gatta Valtellina Superiore DOCG, up to a brut for dessert.
Workshops and activities revolve around the food and wine tour: e-bike tours to discover farmhouses and the territory, bread-making workshops, and entertainment for children. A dedicated pass is available for those travelling with dogs, with pet-friendly stops and gadgets. A free shuttle service connects Morbegno to Traona, making it easier for visitors from outside the area to access.
Traona is one of the stops on the Gustosando in Valtellina circuit, which brings the open cellars and taste tour formula to various villages in the province of Sondrio. An offering that enhances the culture of wine and Valtellina hospitality, focusing on local producers and dishes.
In 2026, the Gustosando circuit will again stop in Traona, in the province of Sondrio, with its tour through six historic cellars in the village.
