Pizzoccheri, polenta taroz and autumn flavours on Lake Mezzola
The Sagra d'Autunno di Verceia, organised by the VerceiaEventi association, is one of the most cherished gastronomic events in the village, in the province of Sondrio. It takes place at the Centro Polifunzionale in Via Walter Corti and celebrates the flavours of the autumn season.
The cuisine features the great classics of alpine Lombardy: Verceia pizzoccheri, polenta taroz, cured meats, sausages, fried foods and homemade cakes. After lunch, the afternoon is dedicated to entertainment with music and bouncy castles for children, in a village festival atmosphere.
The sagra (food festival) is part of a particularly rich annual calendar: dozens of events are scheduled every year in Verceia, covering culture, traditions, sports and tourism promotion. Overlooking Lake Mezzola, the village offers a picturesque landscape where water and mountains meet, at the entrance to Valchiavenna.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra d'Autunno di Verceia is scheduled for October 20th, according to the municipality's event calendar, at the Centro Polifunzionale in Via Walter Corti. From 12:00 PM, the kitchen offers pizzoccheri, polenta taroz, cured meats, sausages, fried foods, and cakes; in the afternoon, music and bouncy castles for children.

Verceia is reached from the SS36 dello Spluga, on the shore of Lake Mezzola; the Centro Polifunzionale is located at Via Walter Corti 111. The nearest train station is Novate Mezzola.
