A day of environment, culture, and music at Parco Scarano in Venticano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Green Hope is an environmental-themed event held in Venticano, a small town in the province of Avellino, nestled in the heart of Irpinia and inland Campania. Promoted by the Municipality of Venticano with the patronage of the Province of Avellino and the collaboration of local associations, the festival occupies an entire day at Parco Scarano, blending environment, culture, sports, music, and gastronomy in a format intentionally open to all ages.
The name chosen by the organizers is no coincidence: green like Irpinia, a land of forests, vineyards, and rolling hills, and hope as the color of the aspiration to build a better world. The underlying theme is the discovery and promotion of the territory through a series of immersive experiences: not just a simple lineup of shows, but an opportunity to share the story of Irpinia with both locals and visitors.
This idea is linked to the concept of restanzaโthe choice to put down roots and remain in an inland area that has been dealing with depopulation for decades. This theme runs through the conferences and meetings of the event, led by foundations, hiking associations, and local scholars.
Green Hope debuted on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Parco Scarano and immediately found its formula: an afternoon dedicated to meetings and children, an evening focused on sports and entertainment, and a night powered by music. The opening conference, titled Esperienze irpine (Irpinian Experiences), brought together the Fondazione Sistema Irpinia, Irpinia Trekking, the Il Cammino della Restanza association, and the director of the Archaeological Park of Aeclanum; in the evening, the stage featured stand-up comedy by Vincenzo Comunale, a live performance by Jovine, and a DJ set until late at night.
Green Hope returns as part of the ViviAMO Venticano - Summer Events 2026 program, presented by the Municipality in early July 2026: a calendar spanning over two months that, between July and September, includes the Venticano Theatre Festival, sports tournaments, the Ham, Wine, and Lamb Festival, Youth Day, patronal festivities with a brass band concert and fireworks, and the Beeropoli beer festival. Closing the season is Green Hope, with activities dedicated to environmental themes and regional promotion. However, the exact date and detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been published: it is best to follow the official channels of the Municipality of Venticano for the official announcement.
Venticano is a town of a few thousand inhabitants in the province of Avellino, known far beyond its borders for the Trade Fair that attracts exhibitors and visitors from all over Campania every spring. The surrounding area is that of hilly Irpinia, characterized by vineyards, olive groves, and villages: just a few kilometers away are the Archaeological Park of Aeclanum, in Mirabella Eclano, and the municipalities that make up the Calore area. It is a context that explains well why an event like Green Hope chose the environment and the landscape as its key theme.
Green Hope is not a massive festival for thousands of spectators; it is a community day, free and outdoors, where an Irpinian town tries to tell its own story. Visitors from outside find a direct way to connect with local associations, taste local street food, and listen to good music in a public park, without the queues and prices of large summer festivals. For those visiting inland Campania at the end of summer, it is a simple and authentic opportunity.
Following its 2025 debut, Green Hope returns to the summer program of the Municipality of Venticano, in the province of Avellino. The ViviAMO Venticano - Summer Events 2026 calendar, presented in early July 2026, places the event in September as the initiative that concludes over two months of events featuring culture, entertainment, and traditions.
The official description mentions activities dedicated to environmental themes and regional promotion, in continuity with the approach of the first edition: meetings, proposals for families, sports, live music, and street food in the greenery of Parco Scarano.
Note: the exact date and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been released. For confirmation, it is best to follow the official channels of the Municipality of Venticano or write to the email address dedicated to the event.
