As December arrives, the Villa Comunale of Carbonara di Nola becomes the beating heart of the holidays: "Carbonara di Nola Lights Up for Christmas" is the event that officially marks the start of the festive season in this small town in the Agro Nolano area, near Naples. An afternoon designed especially for children and families, filled with lights, music, entertainment, and sweet treats.
The most anticipated moment is the lighting of the Christmas tree: the countdown is entrusted to the little ones, who enthusiastically trigger the light show. It is a simple and engaging ritual that brings the entire community together in the municipal park, which is transformed into a small holiday village for the occasion.
Around the tree, an entertainment program comes to life, designed for the younger crowd. Guests at the 2025 edition included a stilt walker and a juggler, alongside entertainers busy with balloon modeling and cotton candy. Delights and sweets are provided for all participants in a festive and communal atmosphere.
A special corner is dedicated to Santa Claus, welcomed in a charming "Christmas Arch" set up with an armchair and a photo backdrop. Children can have their photos taken and, most importantly, drop their wish lists into the dedicated mailbox, one of the most cherished Christmas traditions.
The event is organized by the "San Michele Arcangelo" Festival Committee, with the moral patronage of the Municipality of Carbonara di Nola and the collaboration of the local Pro Loco. A grassroots event, an expression of the town's community spirit, which blends the Immaculate Conception holiday with the Christmas atmosphere in Campania.
Following the success of 2025, "Carbonara di Nola Lights Up for Christmas" is expected to return in December 2026 to the Villa Comunale of Carbonara di Nola, in the province of Naples. The date has not yet been officially announced: for the tree lighting festival, linked to the Immaculate Conception period, the San Michele Arcangelo Festival Committee, together with the Municipality and the Pro Loco, will communicate the program and times in the weeks leading up to the event.
