Golosaria returns to the castles of Monferrato
Now in its twentieth edition, Golosaria Monferrato is the traveling festival created by Paolo Massobrio's Club Papillon, celebrating the very best of Italian agri-food, from historic producers to innovative young startups. The event winds through castles, themed wine bars, villages, and hills spread across some forty locations in the area: a widespread experience that combines taste, culture, and landscape.
The Rosignano Monferrato stop
Among the municipalities featured in the 2026 edition is Rosignano Monferrato, a small town in the Province of Alessandria nestled in the UNESCO-listed hills of Piedmont. Here, Golosaria takes on a special focus dedicated to the extra virgin olive oil of Monferrato: on Saturday, the village will host the official ceremony awarding it the title of City of Oil, a symbolic moment marking the rebirth of olive growing on these hills.
The village transforms into a culinary trail weaving together guided tastings, a craft market, art and ceramics exhibitions, book presentations, and cycling tours through the vineyards. The heart of the activities is the School of Taste hosted at Casa Cassano, created as part of the "Rosignano Welcomes" project, winner of the PNRR Village Call.
A territory to discover
Visiting Golosaria in Rosignano also means discovering the Infernot, the unique cellars carved into the 'pietra da cantoni' stone recognized by UNESCO, and traveling the stone and vineyard roads that shape the landscape of the Lower Monferrato. The event thus unites a passion for fine dining with the enhancement of a unique historical and natural heritage in Piedmont.

Sabato 16 maggio
- 10:00 — Teatro Ideal (via Roma): cerimonia di conferimento del titolo di Città dell'Olio a Rosignano Monferrato, seguita da una tavola rotonda sull'oleoturismo in Monferrato come opportunità di sviluppo territoriale sostenibile.
- 11:00 — Saloni A. Morano (via Vercella): inaugurazione della mostra di ceramica "Rosignano dove la ceramica incontra l'olio" con l'artista Frenz Cuttica; a seguire degustazioni e vendita di olio EVO dei produttori locali.
- 16:00 — Biblioteca Civica (via Marconi): "Il Monferrato in cucina", presentazione con rielaborazione di ricette della tradizione.
- 17:00 — Scuola del Gusto (Casa Cassano, via Marconi): degustazione sensoriale dell'olio con Eleonora Cuttica, Sommelier dell'Olio EVO (su prenotazione).
Domenica 17 maggio
- 9:00 — Piazza Faletti: itinerario cicloturistico "Strade di Pietra e Vigne" tra le colline UNESCO del Monferrato, con ristoro e pasta party.
- 10:00-18:00 — Piazza XI Settembre e Saloni Morano: mercatino artigianale e prosecuzione delle degustazioni e dell'esposizione di olio EVO.
- 11:30 — Scuola del Gusto: degustazione di sake con Miho Ohara, Sake Sommelier (su prenotazione).
- 15:30-18:00 — Teatro Ideal: festa per le famiglie con il concorso degli spaventapasseri realizzati dalle scuole del territorio.
Per tutto il weekend: Info Point con visite agli Infernot UNESCO e al patrimonio del borgo.

How to get there
Rosignano Monferrato can be reached from Casale Monferrato (about 12 km) along the hilly roads of the Lower Monferrato. The most convenient train stations are those of Casale Monferrato and Vignale Monferrato.
When
Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2026. The exhibitions and extra virgin olive oil tastings are open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Reservations
Some sensory tastings at the School of Taste (Casa Cassano, via Marconi) have limited capacity and require a reservation. Info and full program at golosaria.it.
