A weekend of wine and tradition in the heart of the UNESCO Monferrato
Vignale Autunno DiVino is the event that, in the peak of autumn, transforms Vignale Monferrato into a sprawling showcase of local wine and culture. The village, located in the Alessandria province and part of the Monferrato wine landscape inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, welcomes visitors from across Piedmont for a weekend dedicated to food and wine excellence and the region's rural roots.
The heart of the event lies in the tastings, which allow visitors to sample a wide selection of labels directly from local producers, with a special focus on native Monferrato grape varieties. Among the great stars in the glasses of Vignale are Grignolino, the signature wine of these hills, Barbera, and the rare Rubino di Cantavenna, all paired with local culinary specialties.
One of the most fascinating experiences is the guided tour of the Infernot, small cellars hand-carved into the 'pietra da cantone' stone beneath the village houses. These underground chambers, once used to store family wine, are among the key elements that earned Monferrato its UNESCO recognition and represent a unique architectural heritage.
Beyond wine, Vignale Autunno DiVino offers a rich and varied program that enlivens Palazzo Callori and the streets of the center:
Strolling through Vignale during the event also means discovering a village full of charm, with its historic palaces and panoramic views over the vine-covered hills. Organized by the Pro Loco of Vignale Monferrato, the event is the ideal opportunity to experience the Monferrato autumn amidst wine glasses, authentic flavors, and the warm hospitality of a town that makes wine its identity.
Vignale Autunno DiVino returns in autumn 2026 to Vignale Monferrato, in the heart of the Monferrato area of Alessandria. Once again, the village is preparing to welcome visitors for a weekend of native wine tastings, tours of the UNESCO Infernot, a market of local products, street food, and live music.
The full program, with details on times, exhibitors, and cultural initiatives, is being finalized: for updates, we recommend following the channels of the Pro Loco of Vignale Monferrato.
Vignale Monferrato can be reached by car via the A26 motorway (Casale Monferrato Sud exit) or the A21; the village is about 15 km from Casale Monferrato and 30 km from Alessandria. The nearest train station is in Casale Monferrato, which is connected by local buses.
Access to the event area is generally free; tastings and certain activities may require the purchase of a glass or a ticket. For details on times, prices, and bookings for Infernot tours, please contact the Pro Loco.
