About Giro della Provincia Granda

The Giro della Provincia Granda is the most anticipated stage race for amateur cyclists in the Cuneo area. Six stages covering over 300 kilometers through hills, mountains, and vineyards, featuring two time trials and an evening prologue that ignites the challenge in the center of Cuneo. An event that blends passion, endurance, and beauty, bringing top-tier amateur cycling to the municipalities of the Provincia Granda, from Villanova Mondovì to Sale delle Langhe, culminating in the final finish in Mondovì.

The Giro della Provincia Granda, the great amateur race of the Cuneo area

The Giro della Provincia Granda is one of the most beloved amateur cycling events in Piedmont. Established in 2010, the stage race crosses the territory of the Province of Cuneo every summer—the "Granda," as the Piedmontese have always called it due to its vast size—bringing dozens of enthusiasts to the roads who race for the pure pleasure of enjoying themselves and testing their limits on the bike.

Six stages in the heart of Piedmont

The 2026 edition, the sixteenth, offers a challenging route of nearly 300 kilometers divided into six stages. It starts in Cuneo with an evening prologue that fires up the crowd in the city center, then winds through some of the most evocative landscapes in the province: the Langhe hills, the mountains of the Monregalese area, and the vineyards that shape this corner of Piedmont. The race stops in the municipalities of Villanova Mondovì, Sale delle Langhe, Chiusa di Pesio, and Pianfei, with the final finish in Mondovì.

A challenge between time trials and road stages

What makes the Giro della Provincia Granda special is its comprehensive format: in addition to the road stages, there are two time trial tests, plus the initial prologue. A structure that rewards not only rouleurs and climbers but also specialists in racing against the clock, keeping the general classification open until the very last day.

A celebration for the territory

Organized by the ASD Centro Coordinamento Ciclismo Cuneo in collaboration with ASD GS Passatore, the race is much more than a simple competition: it is an opportunity to showcase the municipalities and landscapes of the Provincia Granda. Each stage involves local communities, Pro Loco associations, and administrations, turning every finish line into a small village festival. For those who love cycling and want to discover the authentic heart of Piedmont, the Giro della Provincia Granda is an unmissable event.
