The event is named after Giorgio Dotta and is designed to honor his memory in the way the people of Gottasecca cherish most: by gathering together around the sports field. Polisportiva Gottasecca, which is active in various sports and social initiatives (from football to the local tradition of pallapugno), considers the Memorial a cornerstone of its annual calendar, alongside other events like the Spring Festival, the mid-August Assumption Festival, and "Andar per Langa".

How to play

The tournament follows a 5-a-side football format, with teams consisting of five players on the pitch and up to three substitutes. Participation is open to athletes aged 16 and over, and the number of teams is capped to ensure the smooth running of matches throughout the night. Registration is open in the days leading up to the event until all spots are filled.

Throughout the long night of play, the village food stand remains open, offering sandwiches and snacks between matches, turning the Gottasecca multi-purpose sports facility into the beating heart of the community.
