A gourmet walking tour through the Avisiane Hills between Pressano, Sorni, and Giovo
"From Farm to Farm, from Wine to Wine" is the gourmet walking tour that brings the Avisiane Hills to life every April 25th. Located on the hillside overlooking the town of Lavis, in the Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), the event invites you to walk a 12-kilometer loop—mostly flat, with a maximum elevation gain of about 200 meters—that connects the farms and wineries of Pressano, Sorni, and Giovo, amidst rows of vines and sweeping views of the Adige Valley.
The route winds through nine stops hosted at local farms: starting from Piazza di Pressano, you climb from farm to farm, passing through historic estates such as Maso Grener, Maso Tratta, Maso Poli, Maso Spiazol, Maso Belvedere, Maso Spon, and Maso Panizza. At each stop, local producers and village associations serve Avisiane Hills wines—most notably the Nosiola di Pressano and the Sorni white and red—alongside craft beers, juices, and traditional Trentino dishes. There is no set direction or single starting point: you can choose the most convenient entrance and walk at your own pace throughout the day.
More than just a tasting tour, "From Farm to Farm" is a community celebration. Each stop features live music, dancing, performances, and children's workshops, all framed by the stunning vineyard landscape. The event is designed to be accessible to everyone, with free shuttle trains between the lower farms, e-bike rentals, and special equipment (joelettes and handbikes) available for people with mobility challenges.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Lavis, which coordinates dozens of agricultural businesses, local associations, and about 150 volunteers. Born as a small village festival, it has grown over the years to become one of the most popular spring food and wine events in Trentino, attracting thousands of visitors to the hills of the Piana Rotaliana.
The 2026 edition of "From Farm to Farm, from Wine to Wine," the eighth, was held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, on the Avisiane Hills above Lavis, attracting approximately 4,500 participants. The loop route of about 12 km connected nine farms, starting from Piazza di Pressano.
The stops included Maso Grener, Maso Tratta, and Maso Poli in the lower section, and higher up, Maso Spiazol, Maso Belvedere, Maso Spon, Maso Panizza di Sopra, and the 2026 novelty, Maso Giaz. The organizational team of the Pro Loco of Lavis involved 29 companies, 13 associations, and about 150 volunteers, with 37 producers engaged in tastings.
Lavis is located a few kilometers north of Trento, along the Adige Valley. By car, take the Trento Nord exit (A22 Brenner Motorway) and follow signs for Lavis and Pressano; by train, the Lavis station is served by the Trento-Malé-Mezzana railway. The hamlets of Pressano, Sorni, and Giovo are accessible from dedicated parking areas.
There are three designated entry points: Pressano Village, Località Goset, and Località Serci di Giovo. Free shuttles to Pressano depart from various parking lots (La-Vis winery, station, Area 52); a small train connects the lower farms throughout the day.
Adults €10 (includes tasting glass, lanyard, and €4 in vouchers); youths 5-17 years €4 (vouchers only); children 0-4 years free. Pre-sale is limited to approximately 4,000 tickets and usually sells out; a limited number of tickets are available on-site. Info and bookings: [email protected].
