The spring preview of Friuli Doc by the sea in Grado
For decades, Friuli Doc has been the great gastronomic festival of Friuli, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors to Udine every September. For some years now, the spirit of that event has found a spring and seaside version: the Friuli Doc Spring Edition, a preview that brings the region's flavors outside the provincial capital, towards the sea.
In Grado, the 'Isola del Sole' (Island of the Sun) of the Friulian lagoon, the Spring Edition transforms the historic center into a journey of taste, combining the gastronomic tradition of Friuli-Venezia Giulia with the charm of the seaside town. The event is organized by the "The Farm" Hotel and Restaurant Association of Tarvisio, in collaboration with the Municipalities of Grado and Udine.
The stands are set up between Piazza Biagio Marin and Campo Patriarca Elia, in the heart of Grado, creating an itinerary of tastings and sales of local specialties. The gastronomic offer draws from the best regional traditions: frico and first courses from Carnia, cheeses from Val Canale, dishes based on Pezzata Rossa beef, grilled meats, organic products, and beers from Friulian craft breweries.
In addition to tastings, visitors can purchase products to take home, in an experience that combines the pleasure of dining with the discovery of the territory's excellences.
Held around the June 2nd public holiday weekend, the Friuli Doc Spring Edition is a perfect opportunity to inaugurate the season in Grado, between a walk along the seafront and a delicious stop in the historic center. An event that intertwines tourism, gastronomy, and Friulian identity, bringing the best of the region to the seaside.
The 2026 edition of Friuli Doc Spring Edition takes place in Grado from May 29 to June 2, in the historic center between Piazza Biagio Marin and Campo Patriarca Elia. The inauguration is scheduled for Friday, May 29, in the late afternoon, around 5:30 PM.
The event offers a selection of stands with the gastronomic specialties of Friuli-Venezia Giulia: from frico to first courses from Carnia, from cheeses of Val Canale to dishes based on Pezzata Rossa, from grilled meats to organic products and craft beers. It is organized by the "The Farm" Hotel and Restaurant Association of Tarvisio with the Municipalities of Grado and Udine.
Throughout the period, a journey of taste with stands of Friuli-Venezia Giulia specialties between Piazza Biagio Marin and Campo Patriarca Elia, with tastings and sales of typical products.
