The youth festival in Fossano: emerging music, art, and active citizenship
The Frenetika Festival is a vibrant event bringing three days of music, art, and active citizenship to the center of Fossano, a key town in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont. The initiative stems from a desire to showcase the city and create new opportunities for connection, especially for younger generations, with an inclusive outlook for the whole community.
Behind the festival is the youth association Rəvolution Fossano, founded in 2020 by local youths united by the desire to disprove the idea that "there is nothing to do" in Fossano. This drive led to the creation of spaces for pluralistic participation, a "gentle revolution" that focuses on community, creativity, and civic engagement. The musical direction is entrusted to the Fondazione Fossano Musica, a reference point for music education and promotion in the city.
The heart of Frenetika is live music, with a lineup ranging from rap to indie, and Occitan music to DJ sets, giving a voice to emerging artists and local young musicians. Alongside the concerts, there are open jam sessions, discussion forums, and workshops in an informal and inclusive atmosphere.
The festival is not limited to concerts. The streets and squares of the center, particularly Via Garibaldi and Piazza Manfredi, host food & beverage areas, association stalls, and small craft markets, transforming Fossano into a widespread meeting place. One day is also dedicated to a swap party, an exchange event designed to promote sustainability, reuse, and social interaction.
With free admission and the option to support the initiative through voluntary donations, the Frenetika Festival positions itself as an accessible and participatory celebration capable of uniting different generations through music and culture. Between the Auditorium Calvino Paglieri and the historic center, the event showcases a dynamic and creative Fossano, a living part of the cultural ferment of the Cuneo area and Piedmont.
Fossano is easily reached by car via the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Fossano exit) and the main roads of the Cuneo area.
