Food & Beer: Summer kicks off on the Caronia seafront

Food & Beer is the festival that marks the start of the summer season in Marina di Caronia, the coastal hamlet of the municipality of Caronia, in the province of Messina, along the Tyrrhenian side of Sicily. For three days, the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo transforms into a large open-air party space where beer, great food, and music meet in a popular and family-friendly atmosphere. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Caronia, was created as a moment of wholesome and responsible fun open to everyone, showcasing the seaside village and the identity of the Nebrodi territory.

Sicilian beer and gastronomy

The heart of the event is food and wine. Along the promenade, stands featuring Sicilian beer and craft brews line up alongside street food stalls and local culinary offerings, with tastings of typical products and regional specialties. A significant focus is placed on the short supply chain and products from the Tyrrhenian area: in the past, local agricultural businesses have participated, showcasing tropical fruits grown in Sicily, such as avocados, mangoes, and passion fruit, as well as artisanal jams, highlighting the close bond between the festival and local agriculture.

Beyond the flavors, Food & Beer focuses on entertainment. The event takes place on the Marina di Caronia seafront, on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Messina province, traditionally at the end of June to signal the start of the summer season.
