The great Nebrodi beer festival in Santo Stefano di Camastra
Oktoberfest Stefanese has become one of the most anticipated events of the Sicilian autumn. Every year, at the beginning of October, Santo Stefano di Camastra — a renowned ceramics village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in the province of Messina — transforms for a few days into the Sicilian capital of beer. Launched in 2012, the event has grown with each edition to become the island's largest beer festival, drawing over twenty thousand visitors from all over Sicily.
The heart of the festival is, of course, the beer: traditional Bavarian beers are paired with Sicilian craft beers in a dialogue that pays homage to the local identity. Along the festival route, there are over thirty stands dedicated to serving and tasting, accompanied by a wide selection of Sicilian and international street food: from local street-food specialties to the typical flavors of the Nebrodi area.
The evenings at Oktoberfest Stefanese are brought to life by a packed schedule of live music and entertainment. The stage hosts a rotating lineup of bands and artists spanning various genres — from ska rhythms to pop, Sicilian folk to rock — followed by DJ sets that keep the crowd dancing during the peak hours of the night. There is no shortage of shows, performances, and festive moments for all ages.
The festival is designed with families in mind: a space dedicated to children, featuring bouncy castles, rides, and entertainment, makes Oktoberfest Stefanese an event suitable for all ages. The convivial and festive atmosphere, combined with free admission, makes it one of the most popular ways to experience this Nebrodi village outside the summer season.
The event is organized by the ALMAGI Association under the patronage of the Municipality of Santo Stefano di Camastra. Starting with the 2026 edition, the festival moves to the town's Craft Area (Area Artigianale), a larger and more accessible venue chosen to ensure better parking availability compared to previous editions held between Piazza Vittorio Gerbino and Corso Umberto. This growth confirms the deep roots of Oktoberfest Stefanese in the events calendar of the province of Messina and all of Sicily.
The 2026 edition of Oktoberfest Stefanese will be held from October 2 to 5, 2026, in Santo Stefano di Camastra, in the province of Messina. The big news this year is the relocation of the festival to the town's Craft Area (Area Artigianale), a larger and more welcoming venue, chosen to offer greater parking availability compared to previous editions.
As per tradition, the event will feature Bavarian beers and Sicilian craft beers, numerous street food stands, live music, bands, DJ sets, and a space dedicated to children with bouncy castles and entertainment. The detailed artistic program for the 2026 edition will be published by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event.
